Soros, Hong Kong Donor Fund J Street One of the hottest stories in Washington at the moment was broken by my former Forward and New York Sun colleague Eli Lake, who reported that the left-wing advocacy group on Arab-Israeli issues J Street is being funded by George Soros and a Hong Kong-based figure named Consolacion Esdicul. The Washington Examiner, Weekly Standard, and Atlantic (Jeffrey Goldberg) all follow up. This all raises plenty of questions, but among them are: Will President Obama, who has been attacking the Supreme Court and Republicans in Congress for supposedly allowing "foreign-controlled corporations seeking to influence our democracy" the ability to "spend freely" reconsider his close relationship with J Street now that he knows it is funded by a foreign individual? Starbucks' Schultz Airs ObamaCare Doubts The CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz, who appeared at the White House as a supporter of ObamaCare, now is airing his doubts, the Weekly Standard notices. From an interview with Mr. Schultz in the Seattle Times: "I think as the bill is currently written and if it was going to land in 2014 under the current guidelines, the pressure on small businesses, because of the mandate, is too great."
